When one is considering orthodontic work to straighten your smile, the question of which option is most affordable has probably crossed your mind. The good news is that both are extremely affordable these days, although Invisalign is slightly more expensive.
U.S. National Averages for Braces and Invisalign
When we look at the national averages for Invisalign® pricing, they range from $3,000 to $5,000. Pricing is based on the degree of correction necessary, so no two treatment plans will be identical. If you have minor alignment issues, your costs could be lower. With more complex corrections, prices can be as high as $8,000.
In contrast, average pricing for traditional metal braces normally falls between $2,000 and $6,000. Because prices are based on the needs of each individual, these also may vary greatly from minor to complex alignment problems.
As shown above, the cost of both treatments is very comparable. There are options that may reduce the price, such as dental insurance. Some plans may offer coverage for metal braces but not Invisalign®, or vice versa.
