We know getting that perfect smile takes time with braces. There are some adjustments that need to be made to your everyday habits. One of the biggest changes comes in what kind of foods you eat and how you prepare them.
When you first get your braces put on or have them adjusted the best foods to eat are soft or liquid foods like soup, mashed potatoes, meal replacement shakes and yogurt. Once you get comfortable with your braces you can start introducing more soft foods like tortillas, soft meats, soft steamed vegetables and seafood.
Some other points to keep in mind…
Stick to soft foods
Avoid crunchy or sticky that can damage brackets
Cut food into pieces
Take smaller bites
Eat slowly and chew carefully
Don’t bite into things like burritos, apples, or corn on the cob
Chew with your back teeth
