If you have a plastic retainer and you’re not quite sure how to care for it, then we have some great tips for you!
– Rinse your retainer with warm water each time you take it out of your mouth, like when you eat each meal. This can be helpful because it can wash away bacteria and plaque that form on the appliance throughout the day.
– Clean the retainer each time you brush your teeth. You can do so by scrubbing it with a soft-bristled toothbrush and non-abrasive or antimicrobial toothpaste. This can clean the retainer without scratching it. When you’re done scrubbing, rinse it with cool water. Never rinse the appliance with hot water because it can melt the plastic.
– Keep your retainer in a safe place where it won’t be lost or damaged, like in the case provided or in your pocket, purse, or backpack.
